About TEDxPlaceDesNations

On 11 December in Geneva, Switzerland, a TEDx stage will open to showcase remarkable stories of people helping people. Drawn from Geneva’s myriad of international organizations, you are invited to hear from innovators, humanitarians, entrepreneurs, scientists and peacemakers about the impact they are making to find solutions to todays’ challenges and shape tomorrow’s world. At swissnex Brazil we are providing a moderated live streaming of the TEDxPlaceDesNations directly from Geneva, to our event space in Casa Suiça, Rio de Janeiro. The conference will start at 12 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., divided into two 90-minute sessions, with a 45-minute intermission. We will be live-streaming both sessions to our space at swissnex Brazil.

No dia 11 de Dezembro em Genebra, Suíça, o palco da TEDx será aberto para apresentação de histórias impressionantes de pessoas ajudando pessoas. Extraído a partir da miríade de organizações internacionais de Genebra, você está convidado a assistir a palestra de inovadores, humanitários, empreendedores, cientistas e pacificadores sobre o impacto que estão alcançando para encontrar soluções para os desafios atuais e moldar o mundo de amanhã. Na swissnex Brazil estamos oferecendo um live-stream moderado do TEDxPlaceDesNations, diretamente de Genebra em nosso espaço de eventos na Casa da Suíça, Rio de Janeiro. A conferência começará às 12h e terminará às 16h, dividida em duas sessões de 90 minutos com um intervalo de 45 minutos. Faremos o live-stream de ambas as sessões em nosso espaço na swissnex Brazil.

Beeban KidronColine RapneauDennis Liotta
Baroness Beeban Kidron is a British filmmaker who has spent the last 30 years working in feature film, television drama and documentary. She is Co-Director of Cross Street Films. In 2006 Kidron co-founded the educational charity Into Film (previously Film Club), which has set up over 8000 film clubs across the UK.Coline Rapneau began her career in 2004 in the Chambers, and subsequently the Defence Counsel, of the International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia and International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
She has worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) since 2007, spending six years as a humanitarian field delegate in Guinea Conakry, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti and Cambodia.
Professor Dennis Liotta has helped transform HIV/AIDS from a death sentence to a chronic infection in which patients are able to live active, near normal lives. More than 90 percent of all of the HIV-infected persons in the United States take (or have taken) one of the drugs he invented.

Scott Foster, Director of the Sustainable Energy Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, has led numerous strategy engagements on the question of climate change – how to change portfolios of policy, investment and behavior in light of the science and politics of climate change.
