Our target audience are potential participants both from Brazil and Switzerland. We will show the structure of the program, the added value to their business and showcase experiences from our alumni, highlighting the impact of the program in their business strategy and vision.

The webinar will be presented by Amanda Akemi, Startups & Innovation Project Manager at swissnex Brazil; and Dr. Rocío Robinson, Lecturer at the University of St.Gallen and Program Manager of the AIT Startups (Switzerland, Brazil, and Colombia) and the Swiss School of Latin American Studies (SSLAS). Erick Garcia last year’s AIT participant and Ana Carolina C. Ferronato 2018-2019 alumni will also be present at the webinar to share their experience with the program.
The Academia-Industry Training (AIT) is a program that aims to aid researchers-entrepreneurs from Switzerland and Brazil in the development of their projects and studies into the market and industry. The Training Camp offers an opportunity for the applicants to strategize, featuring workshops in business plan writing, market-entry scenarios, funding strategies and pitching classes as well as a thorough understanding of Brazilian and Swiss market opportunities. The program consists of one training week in Brazil and another in Switzerland, with activities of immersion in the environments of innovation and entrepreneurship of both countries.

Meet the Participants
Dr. Rocio Robinson earned her PhD title from the University of St.Gallen. She has continued to do research in her focus areas: corporate sustainability, social innovation, startups, and social entrepreneurship. She holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and has experience in the private sector, having worked for UBS Wealth Management and a sustainability consultancy in Zürich and New York.
Erick Garcia is one of the founders of Rea, a Swiss startup that enables home monitoring of pregnant women at risk of premature birth. Erick designs the operational strategies of Rea and is responsible for R&D, and engineering. Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Erick worked for 6 years as a scientist in EPFL, Switzerland, where he co-authored 10 publications regarding biosensors for wearable systems.
Ana Carolina C. Ferronato – CTO of NetWord Agro a Brazilian AgTech concerned about reducing around 40% the use of fertilizers and pesticides, thus reducing production costs per hectare, improving the productivity, raising the producers profitability and increasing the sustainability in agribusiness.
