AIT Camp in Brazil – Day 2 and 3
Day 2, Networking, networking, networking!
For the second day in Brazil, the participants are split into two groups: one going to BioRio, a technological park and incubator for start-up companies, the other going to the Technology and Innovation center of the Federal University of Rio.
After the morning visits, we are together again for a few presentations about “born global” start-ups and the funding opportunities for companies in Brazil. Will our start-up be supported by equities, venture capital or Angel investments? The answer is not at all easy…
The evening finishes with a great networking event at swissnex Brazil supported by the circuito start up Rio. There is time for individual coaching with experienced mentors, advice from previous AIT participants, stimulating chats with other entrepreneurs and of course delicious tapiocas!
Day 3, Let’s samba J
It is a big day for the AIT participants in the med-tech and healthcare field: we are going pitching at The D’Or Institute for Research and Education! This is a unique chance to discuss our projects with some of the best Brasilian professors and researchers, will it be the start of a collaboration?
The rest of the group enjoy a great visit to RioCriativo, an innovation center with a focus on the creative economy. To compensate the missed pitched session, the participants have the chance to rehearse their presentations in challenging situations (buses and restaurants ;)).
What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur and how to become one? Let’s find it out at the “business design thinking” workshop where the aspiring entrepreneurs work in groups with business’ students and brainstorm on their business models. At the end of the workshop, the serious discussions are taken over by caipirinhas and samba live music.
