AIT Swiss Camp – Day 1 and 2
One can actually feel innovation when in Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). During this training week, we are 40 entrepreneurs: 20 from Switzerland, 10 Brazilians, and 10 Indians.
Our week started intensively in Lausanne. We were warmly welcomed by the Venture Lab group, especially by Jordi Montserrat, Co-managing director at Venture kick, who gave us valuable feedbacks and tips to improve our pitch and our communication skills. As researchers, those are areas that we always need to improve. On that first day, we went for a tour on the Biopôle, which is the life science community in the canton of Vaud. Among the startups we visited were Abionic, Innovaud and Novigenix. For full-beginners like us, it was a great opportunity to know these new companies and learn about how they started. Schedule for the night? Networking. I had the special opportunity to present my pitch – regarding new molecular approach to improving breast cancer treatment – to potential investors.
At the beginning of the second day, we had another meeting with Jordi Montserrat, who explained more about the cultural differences in business and entrepreneurial environment that should be taken into account when entering the swiss market. Our second meeting included a mentoring session with experts.
Now, it’s time to move to Zurich…
